I received payment from Pinecone today for a follow up survey I took yesterday. I receive my money through Paypal not a check, so it is very fast! I will add this money to my Christmas Snowflake fund.
I'm reusing fabric today to make my sister a cover for her dogs bed. The fabric was once a curtain panel. It will be secured with that Velcro that I bought at Walmart two days ago. I will only end up needing 1/4 of what I bought. The total out of pocket cost for the project is $0.21.
It looks to be a no spend day...unless the flute music we ordered is available when I pick up the repaired flute. The repair was covered under a 6 month maintenance plan, which was included with purchase. I like that!
I'm taking today off from working on taxes. I'll get back to it tomorrow...and hopefully get them submitted.

I have already earned my five $5 Amazon gift cards on Swagbucks this month. I am now accumulating points towards a $25 Paypal deposit by the end of the month. I need to average about 110 Swagbucks per day to meet the goal.
I am adding $6.03 to the Christmas fund. This is the ATM rebate money and interest from our bank for the current month.
I will make a small grocery run today. I know we have enough things on hand for two evening meals. I just need to get some lunch items for the girls and my husband. I will make a bigger store run later in the week. I will pick up the Valentine's candy then. I also plan to make my cards for the girls and my husband. Unfortunately, I know he already bought me a card that cost $5. Ugh!
My sister gave me four, or maybe six, curtain panels that are a bright cheery stripe pattern. I will make one into a cover for her dog's bed. I will make button holes on the six tab tops, add the buttons I bought for less than $2, and it will actually close! It is a lot of fabric but would work well for napkins, or fabric bins. I will probably be sick of the pattern by the time I'm done using it! But she gave it to me for free so I hope to make the best of it.
I'm enjoying the free sample of cat litter, but I know that I wouldn't buy it if it came out on the market. Odor good, but messy. The sample means I haven't had to dig into the new bag I bought 10 days ago.
I finally used up a lotion, one conditioner, and two shampoo bottles. I'm working on another shampoo and a small body wash sample.
I spent $30 on jeans for my youngest daughter at Old Navy yesterday. We all get by on two pairs at a time. She has grown since the last pairs were purchased and one was about to get a hole in the knee. I would have liked to have waited until the end of the month because I think I may be earning a $20 reward! The only thing we buy there is her jeans at this point. And this may actually be the last set, since she is about ready for junior sizes and we have found their women's jeans aren't that great for my older daughter. If I get that reward, I may have to purchase another set, and then return them with my first receipt. Do you think that is acceptable?
Today we are making heart shaped sugar cookies. I splurged and bought the Wilton frosting that comes out like liquid by firms up soon after decorating. It was about $4. Maybe I could make that at home...I'm not a frosting expert. It will make for some fun on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
We did redeem our free Papa Murphy's pizza last night. Yummy!
Are you doing anything frugal today?

Yesterday, while I disconnected from the internet, Chase kindly closed our statement for the month and award our account with the promised $400 in rewards!!
Our rewards balance this morning was 43,852, which included previous rewards, regular spending rewards and the bonus rewards. Those rewards equal $438.52 in cash. I decided to apply the rewards to our card as a statement credit, since the card does have a balance in excess of the reward amount. The remainder balance will, as ALWAYS, be paid off before the due date so that we don't accrue zero interest.
Now that I don't have to send in $438.52 to Chase, that money is sitting in our checking account. What to do? What to do? Of course, I sent it in to the truck loan! Are you kidding me? That has been the plan all along.
I actually sent in $478.52. The extra $40 is because of my husband's pay increase. Much of the pay increase went to increase our Roth IRA investments so we can meet the new $5500 limit this year. But the leftover, will go to debt.
The new balance on the truck loan is $4,021.48. After tomorrow's regular payment posts the balance will be below $4K!! Thanks Chase for the rewards bonus or as we like to call them here on Saving Advice...the snowflake.
Did you send a snowflake to debt this week?

I'm waiting for our most recent Chase Sapphire credit card statement to close in order to receive our bonus reward of $400. The statement should close on Monday.
Currently we about $30 in rewards. So with the bonus, we should have $430+ in rewards to redeem. My plan is to have the rewards credited to the account, rather than receiving a check. I will then use the money I would have sent to Chase towards are truck loan. It doesn't quite feel the same as receiving a check, but it really is the same thing. The checks just take to long.
I closed the first Chase Sapphire card this last week. They mailed a special envelope to return the cards since they have metal embedded into them. It's been so funny to hand the card to cashiers who clearly notice the difference in the card because of the metal. I actually inquired as to how to destroy the cards, which is when they offered the mail in option to destroy the cards. Now I have to find what I did with them!!
We will close the current Chase Sapphire cards next month to make sure we don't get hit with their annual fee. Anyone know of any decent reward offers right now? I did see one somewhere that was for $250 in gift cards, but can't remember which one that might be. I tend to like cash, so I did ignore it, but wondering if I should consider it.

My husband went back to work this morning. My girls have one more day off from school. Because they have all been home, I haven't spent the time to focus on our 2013 goals. I have a vague idea, but I'd like to have them more concrete before posting them online.
I will say that I have a couple snowflakes. One was the book I sold on half.com for $0.83 profit, there was one Pinecone survey I was paid for late last month for $3 as well. I used a Menard's rebate of $3 to purchase kitty litter which I have a rebate to send in for a free bag. Eventually, a check will arrive to compensate for that.
I was not on Swagbucks much at all in the month of December, because I wanted to focus on the season and spend more time with family. It was definitely worth it! I still managed to accumulate enough points for a $5 Amazon gift card because I did just a few daily points here and there, search wins while online shopping, and search wins from a referral or two. I'm to attempting to meet the daily goal for the day and will start stock piling Amazon.com gift cards again for next Christmas!
One of my tricks last year, was to primarily purchase Amazon gift cards. If I bought something on Amazon during the year, I would use the gift cards in my account, but then deduct the amount from my checking balance to be held in our Christmas fund account, so that I had some cash to purchase gifts in stores or give the nieces and nephews.
Clearly one of my goals is to accumulate another free Christmas in 2013, one snowflake at a time!

We sold a book on half.com overnight. Net profit only $0.83, but I'll take it. The book is already at the post office on it's way to the new owner.
We made another trip to Target today. Our youngest daughter wanted to buy a Wii game. She had a pajama shirt to return that we gave her for Christmas. She also returned a gift from a friend that she received for her birthday back in July. Both items netted her $24.32 in Target credit.
The game she wanted was $49.99, but noticed before we left that it was $16.09 on Amazon.com. In the end we left Target empty handed and ordered the game online. She decided to pay another $8.99 to have it delivered tomorrow. I would have completely discouraged this normally, but the price was so good on Amazon and it will arrive with plenty of time to play before school starts again. And she did buy it with gift money.
On our way out of Target, I noticed some type of coupon on the ground. I went to pick up it up and realized it was $3 off coupon for Target. There were two others nearby upside down.
I do feel bad for someone though. These were 'apology' coupons. They read: $3 off with our apologies. We are sorry for any delays you experienced in our store today. As a token of our appreciation for your patience, please accept this coupon valid for any purchase at any Target store. We hope to see you soon.
In the end I have $9 to use at Target. I think these will be added to the 2013 Snowflake Fund!

We had a terrific three day vacation out of town with relatives. We were blessed with useful gifts. I notice as I get older the gifts aren't really that important. It is the time with family that is the best part.
I checked online this morning and found out the BAS rates have been established for 2013. My husband is an officer. That rate will be $242.60, which is up $2.64 per month. The enlisted member rate is $352.27. Also only up a couple dollars from last year.
We have met our $3000 spending requirement on our most recent Chase credit card. The statement doesn't close until January 14, so we will have to wait until then to get our $400 bonus. Now back to cash/debit card spending!!
I will be doing financial planning for 2013 in the next week. I expect to do some posts along the way about our plan to pay off the truck, and other savings goals. I will also be estimating our taxes again.
In January, if not before, I am going to see how much money I can make selling things on Ebay and Craigslist. There are several of us on the blogs here that are going to be participating. As I start rounding those items up, I will be setting items aside to take to Goodwill just before year end. It doesn't hurt to have that extra tax deduction.
As a few others have stated, I love this time of year for goal setting and decluttering. Are you with us? Are you going to be looking into your financial plan for the the next year? Any tips you want to share about how you approach your goals?

I've figured out that I have $473.44 left in my Christmas Snowflake fund that will not be needed for Christmas shopping. I know this because I'm done shopping!!
My 2012 Christmas Fund total was $1,429.21, thus I must have spent $955.77 on Christmas gifts. That seems to be more than last year, based only on memory. However, it was all FREE money. Very little came from my husband's salary. I also know that I have been a little more generous with the gifts. The nieces and nephews are getting an additional $5 each. A good friend and her family are receiving $55 in gift cards, but last year I found great deals for them and only spent $10 out of pocket.
I had quite a few Amazon.com gift cards, so much of my shopping was done there, with free shipping with our Prime membership. I think some of the prices are a bit inflated compared to sales I might have been able to find in stores. I would have spent much more time in stores this season and I've enjoy not having to go out quite as often.
The really good news other than free Christmas gifts is that I'm sending the excess funds, $473.44 to the truck loan today!! I actually rounded the number up by $0.23 to make the principal balance an even dollar amount.
Old Balance $5,266.67
Excess Funds $473.67
New Balance $$4,793.00
We are under $5k!! I am so amazed at how fast this loan is going down. Makes me happy. I really don't want to make these payments anymore!! This loan will definitely be gone in 2013.

Today is the last day this week you can spend $50 at Target and receive a $10 Target gift card. You can get your coupons Text is here and Link is http://www.fatwallet.com/static/attachments/232939_target4x4.pdf here.
I spent $50 yesterday buying toiletries, candy and alcohol. The candy and alcohol are Christmas gifts. I used $40 in previously obtained gift cards to help cover the gift portions!
Today we bought a Wii game, a furnace filter, and more groceries. We spent $55 and received another $10 gift card when I gave them the coupon. I used $20 in Target gift cards to cover the game we purchased since it is a gift.
At this point I still have about $30 in Target gift cards in my wallet. We may swing back up to Target tonight to get more of our groceries, since I would need to get there by tomorrow for the week anyway! Might as well take advantage of the gift card deal while we can.
Have fun shopping at Target and don't forget to check the clearance aisles for great deals on gifts!

The $25 PayPal cash arrived in my account two days ago. That was the last redemption of 2012 for me with Swagbucks, since I'm taking a break for the Christmas holiday. I have yet to move it to our bank account. I think I will leave it there for now.
I have been participating in the Smoothie Challenge. My goal is 15 smoothies this month. So far, I've had three. I need to stock up on more greens today so I can make more!
I have spent all of my Amazon.com gift cards earned from Swagbucks. I actually had to pay for something out of pocket yesterday! That hasn't happened for months. I'm definitely grateful for those earnings.
I received a $10 Target gift card yesterday when I spent over $50 at Target. The offer expires today and you can print a coupon Text is here. and Link is http://www.mymoneyblog.com/target-free-10-gift-card-with-50-purchase.html here. I'm going to be using another coupon today to get another one. I might just use these gift cards rather than saving them for next year. We shop Target for groceries, so I expect that we will have extra holiday food expenses and that the gift cards will be helpful in that regard. Or maybe a couple extra stocking stuffers. Either way we will use them. Keep your eyes open for other offers from Target. They did several of these type of deals last year.
Today I will print out the gift cards I earned on Swagbucks that I will be giving as gifts. I will put them in an envelope and have my artistic daughter put a little festive something on the envelope. My nieces and nephews always appreciate cash or gift cards.
I could just about start wrapping, but I will wait until more of my Amazon.com packages arrive. I will use wrapping paper and gift bags I have on hand. We have plenty. The only thing I may need to buy is tape.
I hope to end our evening today with all the lights out except the tree, listen to our favorite Christmas music and drink some hot chocolate by our fireplace. Are you doing anything festive to enjoy the season?

I was out shopping in the stores today. I went to Old Navy and found fleece pullovers for my husband in the clearance section for $4.99 each!! I picked out three in different colors.
It gets better. I had a $10 Rewards certificate, so with tax my total was $5.23! I couldn't sew them for less than that!
I love finding good deals! The discount doesn't diminish what I will purchase for gifts, only what I end up paying out of pocket. Otherwise, we might end up with too many things with deals like those!
Oh did you hear about the $10 gift card offer for spending $50 at Target? It is a coupon that expires Saturday. You can read about it Text is here. and Link is http://www.mymoneyblog.com/target-free-10-gift-card-with-50-purchase.html here. What is the best deal you have found recently?

From January 1 through November 30, 2012 I have been accumulating small amounts of money, which I call snowflakes. The final grand total of all snowflakes is $1,429.21!! That averages out to $129.93 per month.
Want to know where I found all those snowflakes? Here's a basic breakdown:
$305.00 Amazon Gift Cards (Swagbucks) $305.00
$140.00 Miscellaneous Gift Cards (Swagbucks)
$137.00 Surveys (Pinecone & MySurvey)
_$75.00 Cash (Swagbucks)
$318.42 Ebay Sales
_$95.00 Craigslist Sales
_$20.00 Garage Sale
_$60.00 Target Gift Cards
_$42.11 Rebates
__$3.00 Lottery winnings
_$23.39 Half.com sales
_$22.77 Gifts returned for merchandise credit
_$35.00 Gift cards from MyPoints
_$10.00 Cash gift
_$40.00 Special Offers
__$9.50 Movie ticket (Lean Cuisine)
_$22.94 Utilities under budget
_$41.00 Unknown!
__$5.02 Debit card rewards
_$24.06 Found on the ground
The special offers were for opening a Serve account in January and some offer from Mastercard which I no longer remember the details for. For three months, I was under budget with our water bill at our previous home and I saved the difference. Yes, we literally found $20 in our new backyard! I think the rest is self explanatory.
It's just amazing to see the money grow as the months go by. The original intention has been to use this for Christmas, however, I know that it will not all be used. Once I'm done shopping the the excess cash will be sent to the truck loan. If I have leftover gift cards, I will use them in our regular spending and then send an equal amount to the loan at that time.
Anyone can do this! We might find our snowflakes in different places, but the cash adds up the same way. I'd love to hear about your snowflake sources.

A few hours after I made the principal payment on the truck yesterday, our first Chase rewards check arrived in the mail. A nice fat check in the amount of $539!
Today, I'm depositing it into our checking account and modifying the original payment I made yesterday. The payment is still pending so might as well increase the amount while I can.
The truck loan balance is now $5688.64!!
For some reason I'm still amazed by how fast this loan is going down. At the beginning of the year I just hoped to be under $8K by December 31. We will definitely make it under $5400 by then. And I can definitely see that this loan WILL be paid off in 2013!!

I made my 3 year old niece an apron for Christmas. It was easy and will look so cute on. She is also getting a cake mix and frosting. She loves to help her mommy bake. I spent $3.97 for one yard of fabric at Walmart. I only used about half, maybe less. I had the elastic used in the neck strap, as well as, the thread and Velcro.
I quickly accumulated 595 Swagbucks this morning doing a Credit Sesame offer and finishing a big survey from yesterday. This brought my total to 2500, which I promptly redeemed for $25 in PayPal cash. I'm counting this as my last snowflake for the season even though I won't receive the cash for two weeks.
I'll be back soon with my final snowflake total! Anyone else want to guess the total? Frugal Texan made a guess in my previous post.

I participated in a Pinecone Survey yesterday. Today I received my $3 payment in my PayPal account. Yes! Another snowflake to wrap up nearly a year of savings.
The end of the month came fast. I checked out bank account today and was surprised that DH paycheck was pending in the account. Since the first is on Saturday, he gets paid the day before...and that is tomorrow already. That will mean I need to pay some bills soon...and some more principal on that truck loan, too!
I've been busy sewing this week. A long overdue project that I promised my girls is finally complete, in addition to a small repair and a hem on a dress. I'm also making an apron for my 3 year old niece. I will finish it tonight. These projects have kept me busy and out of the stores. No extra spending is always good!
As I said in my previous post, I will do a final tally of my snowflakes very soon! Anyone want to guess my final total for the year? Just for fun.

I'm losing track of which snowflakes I've written about on the blog this month. I guess it's like a blizzard when you can see two inches in front of you. I did get a $5 gift card at Target for buying lotion last week.
Swagbucks posted a $10 Gap gift card that I redeemed earlier this month. I have 1700 Swagbucks that I should redeem toward something. I think I will see what I can accumulate in the next two days, then after my November bonus bucks post on December 5th, I will redeem for more PayPal cash that I can put towards the truck loan!
I will be taking a Swagbucks break for the month of December, except for the redemption mentioned above. It has been consuming too much time. It's been worth it to get the cash and gift cards for Christmas gifts, but I do want to spend time with my family and not online! I will get back on in January to begin my 2013 Free Christmas challenge.
I hope to have a final snowflake challenge update soon. I also hope I can backtrack and see what I actually spent of the snowflakes. I'm starting to shop and it's getting complicated since I have several buckets of money! I'll do my best.
Anyone have their final tally for Christmas snowflakes yet? Are you still accumulating? Do you want to join the challenge in the new year?

Our regular payment on the truck was processed yesterday. We paid $20.57 in interest. The remaining payment of $308.56 was applied to the principal balance.
Our new truck loan balance is $6,519.04!!
Later this month, I expect to receive our rewards check from Chase in the amount of $539. It will, of course, be applied to the principal balance. That means by the end of the month we will be below $6K. A milestone I wasn't expecting when the year started.
It's amazing where you can find money for debt when you think outside the box and explore options. Will your debt balances be up or down by the end of the year?

We met our $3000 threshold for spending on the Chase Sapphire card in my name about two weeks ago. The statement finally closed and credited us 40,000 bonus points this morning.
I quickly paid the card off. And then went to redeem the points for cash. Actually outstanding points was 53,900. Part of the points came from saving up points from earlier in the year on a Chase Freedom card and of course actually points earned from spending. The check will arrive in about 10 days in the amount of $539.00!
That $539 will go towards the truck loan, which allows me to confidently say we will be under $6K by the end of the year on that loan!
The Oops? Since the credit card balance was over $900, I should have redeemed the points first as a statement credit, paid the remaining balance and then used the cash I was expecting to use on the credit card to pay down the truck loan, which I could have done today. Instead I need to wait for the check. Lesson learned there. I will definitely use that method on the next rewards bonus!
I suppose I could still make a big payment knowing the check is coming, but I think I'll wait just to be sure. Expect a truck loan update tomorrow, as I expect our regular truck payment to post tonight.
Any other reward redemption tips?

I redeemed enough Text is Swagbucks and Link is http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/creditcardfree Swagbucks for $50 cash to be sent to my Paypal account. I should receive it in another week or so.
This is the first time I have redeemed for cash over gift cards. I almost have too many Amazon.com gift cards for my Christmas spending. And not everything will be purchased on Amazon. A little cash will be very helpful.
I am adding this to the Christmas Fund balance, which as a reminder, I will use extra at the end of the year to put on the truck loan.
Tomorrow is payday and I will be sending in a principal payment in the amount of $62. The amount is equal to 2% of DH basic pay. The amount the payroll tax will increase on January 1. I figured if we are going to lose it then, we can afford to not have it in our spending now. It will help us get used to the new amount.
Has anyone else considered how the payroll tax increase will affect you on January 1? Are you prepared? Currently, you should see 4.2% of your gross pay taxed for social security/payroll tax (FICA). That rate will increase back to 6.2%. Do the math and you will see the change. This rate of 6.2% is the rate we paid prior to 2011 and it is likely expiring at the end of this year!

Our debit card rewards have amounted to $100 this year. I redeemed them a couple days ago to be deposited in our checking account. Today, I sent that $100 to our truck loan!!
The new balance is $6,888.95. Our next regular payment is just 11 days away, so the balance will be going down again. It's nice to keep making progress.
What are you making progress on? Anything financial? You do have goals right? I'd love to hear!

We are nearing our $3000 spending on the Chase Sapphire card we opened in my name, thanks to putting several of our utility bills on the card this month. I think we have another $130 left.
Yesterday, we applied for another Chase Sapphire card in my husbands name. We will have 3 months to spend $3000 on this card and earn another $400.
The rewards we earn from opening and spending on these cards is going to pay down the truck loan. We are only spending on things we would normally be buying with cash we have on hand...nothing extravagant or out of the ordinary.
Don't forget to vote! It's your privilege and right as an American citizen.

I received a couple more snow flakes to start off the month of November. I was paid $3 yesterday for a Pinecone Survey I participated in on Thursday.
Today we sold an old, but working, television for $10. This sale was made through Craigslist. We are happy and the buyer is happy!
I have enough Swagbucks to redeem for $30 in gift cards. I will add them to my list once I actually redeem, but the snowflakes are adding up quickly this month!

It's payday!! Who doesn't love payday? As a result, I am able to make our new regular principal payment to the truck loan. That amount is $230.05. That brings our principal balance to $6,988.95!! We are under $7K for the first time.
I checked our money market account today. We earned $36.09 in interest for the month of October. We save our interest each month, that way we can earn more interest on the account!
I redeemed some Lean Cuisine Delicious Reward points today towards one movie ticket (Fandango) and two microfiber dish clothes. I think they will all be given as gifts.
We are getting very close on our $3,000 spending on our Chase Sapphire card. We have another $300 to go. I expect gas in our two vehicles, a grocery run, and a Red Cross donation will get us there very soon. That will mean earning 40,000 points to be redeemed for $400 (which will go to the truck loan).
That's the news from here today. I really hope those of you on the East Coast know we are sending hugs and best wishes your way, while you deal with the changes Sandy has brought. Check in when you can!

I sold an HD TV antenna on craigslist yesterday. It was an ad I had put up two weeks ago, that I renewed to bring to the top of the list again. The woman responded almost immediately!
That's $10 more in the Christmas Fund (excess to go to truck loan)!!
Keep your eyes open for things around you that someone else might want...and list them for FREE on craigslist. It means more money in your pocket!

I added up the purchases we have made on our Chase Sapphire card. We have spent $1,591.85, which puts us more than halfway to our goal of spending $3000.
Chase Sapphire will give us $400 in rewards for reaching that amount. We will definitely be putting that $400 bonus towards our truck loan payoff!
It looks like I just activated this account at the beginning of October! Geez...that is a lot of spending, but we are putting EVERYTHING on the card, including utilities, hair cuts, auto registrations, gas, and food. I will actually be running a couple errands today and putting more money on the card!
It feels odd to be promoting spending, but we do spend anyway, so the cash bonus at the end is a great incentive to get our loan paid off. I have a feeling I will have my husband apply for this card after we reach this first goal.
And by the way, for those of you who also have the Chase Sapphire card, what do you think that card is made of? It seems heavy and a bit like metal! It feels different than any card I've ever had.

My ebay auctions have ended. I sold four items in the last two weeks, netting me $107.57! Can't complain there. I think this money is heading to the truck loan. I will decide when the money arrives in my bank account later this week.
For the month of October, my snowflakes are $25 in Amazon.com gift cards, a $10 Gap gift card, a $10 iTunes gift card (all from Swagbucks) and $6 from Pinecone surveys.
Grand total of snowflakes so far for the month of October $158.57. Happy dancin' in my snowflakes! What snowflakes have you accumulated this month?

The good news is that I have two items on ebay with bids and one with 16 people watching it. There is another one listed, but may not pan out to anything. Those auctions end Sunday. I will likely have a couple more things to add at that time.
The rest is money out of our pocket, but a result of some great sales. I browsed Eddie Bauer yesterday and found XL Tall polo shirts that my Dad loves for $9.09 each! These retail for $32.95. I will give to him for Christmas or more likely his birthday in May. He usually wants some of them by then.
We found weed killer in the brand and form my husband prefers marked 50% off at Target. We snagged five for the next weed season. It should last longer since we don't usually put down that much in one season. It never goes on sale that cheap.
I pointed out a candle in a scent I LOVE at Target to my husband. I also pointed out that it was on clearance and that he should buy it. Of course, he didn't want to buy in front of me! I hope he snags it. I may swing by and get one for my mom and sister for their birthdays, but I'm going to think on that one. I don't want to buy just because it is on sale. I want the gift to be something they would really want.
Have you snagged any great deals lately? Are you holiday shopping yet? Have you sold anything?

I sold a coat on ebay last night. I may have under priced it, since it sold within two hours of listing it! Oh well, I tried to sell it for the same amount at a garage sale and it didn't go then. If it sells online for the same, I shouldn't care really.
Right now my two ebay sells have netted me $71.42 that will get sent to that truck loan!
So far no luck on those items I have listed on craigslist...as PatientSaver mentioned in the comments it may be a sign of the times. I don't even feel the items are listed high at all, but if you are watching pennies these items are likely wants rather than needs.
I still have three active ebay listings that have Buy It Now options, but the auctions are scheduled to end on Sunday.
I noticed recently that I have been a member of ebay since December 2001! I don't think I started selling right away, but I know I've been selling our used stuff since the girls were little, so it could be close to that date. How long have you been on ebay? Longer than me?

I listed three items on ebay last night. The costume I made two years ago sold tonight with the Buy It Now option. It was listed for nearly $70 including shipping. Not sure what the profit is yet, but I'm pleased that my hard work paid off. It did take hours to make!
Only minor interest in the couple of things I have on craigslist. Someone may be over tomorrow for a tv and antenna, which would put $20 in our pocket. Not real sure how interested this person since they are bit slow responding to email.
I have some more things I will get posted to ebay tomorrow. I have books, a coat and a jacket. Oh, and a pair of shoes that was discovered as outgrown this weekend. I do like that you can list items for free on ebay now (actually a limit of 50 per month). That way if you only waste time putting something up rather than fees on top of it.
I will be hemming a pair of hand me down pants for my daughter tomorrow to be ready for her first band concert of the year. It is always nice when I don't have to buy something for an event...of course, this is where we needed new shoes. So money was spent.
I'll keep you updated on the sales, of course, but what do you think about the profit from these sales going to the truck loan? I think it would be a good idea considering I seem to have plenty saved for Christmas at this point.

I finally got around to listing several things on craigslist this afternoon. If all items sell, we will net $110.
One of the items has a short listing, since I really think it will sell better on ebay. I indicated the short listing in the ad, so that if someone who sees it is interested they will act fast!
I also realized a homemade Halloween costume I made my daughter two years ago will likely sell fast on ebay. As it turns out this costume doesn't really exist at a retail store. That's why I made one!! The current one listed is selling for $47. So with DD's permission, I'm listing that costume tomorrow along with some other outgrown clothing items.
Fingers crossed for a week full of sales! Are you selling anything right now?
