We've recently instituted the move to "short" glasses (half the size of a full glass) for milk in the morning. This has saved quite a bit of milk in half-drunk glasses. People are welcome to go back for a second (or even third) helping.
I also started using powdered milk for baking. Smile

SO and I always pack lunches. We have an agreement where the one who doesn't have to be at work first gets up with the first person to make the lunches, so the morning is easier on them, and we have no excuses for spending on food.

When I make a pot of coffee, there's too much for me to drink. I refrigerate the leftover coffee in a glass jar, then make a "frappaccino" (by adding creamer) on the following mornings, till it's gone. No coffee goes to waste.

Following the same principle, whenever I make a casserole or any large entree, I immediately divide the leftovers into one-serving portions and freeze. In the mornings, I just grab one to carry to work for lunch.

I never leave the heat or AC on when I leave the house. I make sure that all my errands are in a route to save money on gas. I use coupons for anything I need (and an occasional want).

We cook from scratch regularly and avoid restaurant meals.
