Experience Gifts

November 6th, 2014 at 05:01 pm

I just discussed gifts for my youngest nieces and nephews with my sister in law. She said they just aren't that into stuff! Not a bad thing, huh? The plan is to buy their family a state park permit for the 2015 year. That will cost me $26. That is inexpensive for four young kids and their parents! I can order online or pick up when I back for Thanksgiving.

I'm a fan of experience gifts. I don't get to give them very often, but have received them and they are always appreciated!

What experience gifts have you given or received? Or do you have one you would like to receive?

My parents just gave the boys a membership to the Museum of Science and Industry. The girls would like to see Mary Poppins at the Paramount, so I imagine we will go to see that. Definitely value the experiences -- mine are still talking about the Brookfield Zoo 5K (though I was the only runner and they were walkers with my husband, mom and friend).

I think the state park permit is an awesome idea! Smile

I just gave my grandsons a trip to Medieval Times for their birthdays. I'm not sure they understand that it was a birthday gift, but they did love it!

A nice under the tree gift would be a roll of quarters for food for the ducks if they have such a thing. Or hiway bingo which my kids loved. Same with travel games. Just an idea to meet the kids expectations to open gifts.
