Irritated with Army

September 24th, 2014 at 02:34 pm

I can see my husband's pay stub for next week. He was promoted as of September 1, yet they have not yet changed his pay. I changed withholding for us online, that change was made. I requested online to send $500 to our new US Bank account. That change was handled, and just did that two days ago.

I realize I can't go in and change the pay for him like the other two things. Someone is NOT doing their job, and that irritates me!!

I gave a heads up to my husband, so hopefully he can get the situation moving along. I know he will get paid his new pay as of September 1, but WHEN is the question. If corrected for the next check, Oct 15, it will include all the back pay up to that point. I won't know the true check amount we can expect until Nov 1 at the earliest. I can estimate it of course, but I do like to know the specifics, like all number nerds do. Smile

How long have you had to wait for a promotion to be reflected on your paycheck?

First I would like to say taht you are waiting on promotion pay increase. And, of course Congatulatios for your husband's promotion, and for his commitment. You must be very proud of him. My son has waited for promotion money in the past, I think about a month. And , he is Navy. I know that he has had to wait on travel money, and some deployment money. It did get corrected though, and once for some reason, he didn't get travel money for about 6 months. They did pay him though. Hope taht you see the difference soon..

Joanne thanks for your comments. This is not the first time we have waited on pay issues, including travel, deployment and moving. It does always work out, but it really shouldn't have to be that way. I just get irritated and impatient!! It's all good in the end.

Creditcardfree, I totally agree that you shouldn't have to wait on the promotion money. I can understand that it can be irritating to wait., especially when you know it's there. Again, Congatulations.

My employer is notorious for forgetting to apply pay increases that are supposed to occur automatically when we hit each "threshold" of hours. I've been pretty fortunate but for some of my co-workers it has taken months to get things straightened out. The types of errors I've had on my paychecks have been minor (and not always my employer's fault ... I'll admit I've made an error or two on a time sheet) and the adjustment always are made on the next paycheck (so a 2-week wait).

I hope it all gets straightened out soon. It is frustrating when you can't plan!

That sounds very frustrating! I hope the delay is over soon.
