Mailbox Money

January 17th, 2014 at 09:33 pm

I received the $50 rebate check for my Kitchen Aid mixer in the mail today. (By the way, I love my mixer!) I also received my most recent Swagbucks redemption of $25 in my PayPal account.

I added these to some other recent snowflakes, added my planned extra principal payment that reflects the increase in our housing allowance and rounded up $0.20 for an even $200 principal payment on our mortgage. We have now paid over $1000 in principal since January 1!!

$102.20 planned extra principal
_$50.00 Kitchen Aid rebate
_$18.00 Wine rebate
__$2.54 Capital One CC Rewards
__$2.26 Menard's Return

Oh, it feels good to have less debt! Did you end the week with less debt? Any checks in your mail today?

No checks, but I did send an extra $30.89 to the auto loan today! That loan's days are numbered, at this point I'm just tired of looking at it!

@XT, I know exactly what you mean. I remember a similar feeling when we were getting close to paying off our truck last year.

@CCF: I remember reading your blog about you paying your truck loan down. For a little while we were neck and neck on our remaining balances! I was secretly competing with you, but then DW and I decided it was time to install central air in the house! Haha!

Oh yes, I remember that. I'm sure the central air was worth the money.

I don't have any debt, though I was happy that this past pay day finally bulked up my checking account to what I'm accustomed to having in it. Just that much closer to being able to put my monthly $2500 transfer to savings in action.

@PS, that is great that you getting back on track with your balances. That would please me too, if that was my position.
