Craigslist Sale: Fail

August 30th, 2011 at 03:43 pm

I had a couple items listed on craigslist. I thought I had an interested buyer. Yesterday they were a no show. I did have an email much later in the day, indicating they were no longer interested. That was nice. I guess. I was looking forward to a $40 sale. Darn.

Today, I'll be painting our interior garage door with paint I have on hand. Free home repairs make me happy!

Once I'm done with that, I need to clean bathrooms. DH will be home for several days this weekend. Yipee!

I've had my ups and downs with Craigslist. I sometimes wonder if it's the time between seeing the item and actually going to purchase it that makes it not as effective as ebay. We did fine with room air conditioners and stuff; also with skates and things people needed immediately--but other things seem to sell better on ebay. Is it the click-to-bid-ease of it?

Craiglist is a very slow process. We were able to make about $300 over a 6 month period of time. But it was a lot of waiting for emails, responding to emails, waiting for people to show up; sometimes they did sometimes they didn't, and if they didn't then you start all over again.
