Who's Up for A No Spend April?

March 30th, 2011 at 03:10 pm

My no spend month is almost over as the month of March draws to a close. Anyone want to do a no spend month in April? Pay your bills and only spend on necessities. At the end of the month we can see if you saved some cash. I'll cheer you on.

I had a no spend day yesterday. I noticed that we are very low on butter and I have no soda in the house. I might cave and go buy those things. Otherwise things are looking very good to close the month with at least $200 in saved cash.

I realized that $200 divided by 31 days is $6.45 per day saved. One could simply save $6.45 per day by transferring it to a savings account and have $200 by the end of the month. And who couldn't use an extra $200?

I would love to join you BUT I am planning so many spending things including getting my Christmas Shopping done.

Hummm Maybe If I set a budget for the things I have to get done then only count the amount I go over, would that work?

If that will work I will create a seperate page for the things I need to buy this month along with the budgetted amount to hold me accountable.

@LittleMsMom: I think it is okay to make your own rules if needed and I think your plan would work. I'll cheer you on if you go for it.

I thought about it, but I still have two weeks of cheerleading that requires us to eat out two nights a week and we have a trip to tampa. So I don't think I will do it this month, but definately on the table for May! Good Luck on you efforts!

I don't have anything extraordinary planned for April, but I have absolutely no desire for a no-spend month. Big Grin

That's awesome you saved $200! I couldn't save $200 without some serious deprivation over here, so, eh. I don't want to eat ramen all month to do so. Wink

I am itching to do another one, but April is out. We're moving, and fixing up our current house to sell. Too many things that need money! That said, I will be spending as little as possible.
