He's In The Desert

June 7th, 2010 at 06:52 pm

I finally got word that my husband is in the desert where it is 120 degrees. I received an email from him letting me know he arrived safely. Thank goodness for technology!

I've been doing pretty good after having quite a few rough days before he arrived home on a pass and then a terrible time saying goodbye. Who wouldn't? I think once we get into a communication schedule, hopefully by phone or skype, I'll be much better.

One day at a time. Hmm...just like finances! Oh, and he seems to be on some sort of crazy spending spree this month having already spent $260. I hope that is it until next week, I'm having a hard time keeping up.

How do the kids handle him being gone. I am concerned about my 22-month-old granddaughter. Prayers sent for all of you.

Spoke to my son in California desert training last night. He said temp there was 120 and 130 in Afghanistan. The wind was blowing so much it was hard to hear him. I love technology. We are considering keeping his internet phone active while he is in Afghanistan and adding/downloading a skype program. Heard from others coming back that works best and is least expensive. Best wishes to you!

It must be hard to have him so far away. Hang in there!

Homebody, the girls are doing surprisingly well. They miss him, but they live so in the moment and tend to find happiness where they are. He also did so much travel prior to this trip that they are somewhat used to his being gone.

    Your granddaughter will be okay!

Thank you credit. I cannot tell you how much I admire military families. I know what a sacrifice you make.
