The home equity loan is PAID OFF!!
I have tried to log into our account with the mortgage company and it seems not to exist any longer...so I'm taking that as the official sign!!
The loan was taken out 3 years 5 months ago when we purchased our current home. We made a plan January 2009 to get it completely paid off. And now here we are!
Only debt now: the mortgage and our van loan...which we will start working on this year.
Thanks for cheering us(me) on along the way!!
It's Paid Off!!

Wow, three and a half years--that's really great! Way to stay focused and kick that debt to the curb!
The same thing happened with my personal loan account--when I went on to check it, it had just disappeared. It was the weirdest feeling that I couldn't go back and look over the payments, celebrate by looking at the zero balance...nothing! But at the same time it was kind of awesome, like I'd destroyed even the evidence of the debt.
Congratulations! It's been fun watching the progress. Is it weird that I feel a sense of vicarious triumph?

Ceejay: I feel the same way about almost everyone here when they pay off their debt. It's so exciting whether it's yours or not!
