Here's the plan....

By the end of February, or before, I hope to pay the home equity loan down to under $10K. I should be able to do this easily. I needed to put it here, so that I avoid spending the money on a new couch. The wants are getting in my brain...help!!

I have estimated our tax refund to be about $2K. I also have over $1500 from February paychecks that could be allocated to the loan as well. I just need to stay away from the furniture store!

    You need to change your W2 so you don't get any taxes back. You are giving the government an interest free loan.

    Dave, thanks for your concern. Most of our refund is from our state...and I already claim the most on our w2 and the state still takes quite a bit out of our check. I'm down to only $600 from Federal. When you have kids...those credits can create a refund...even when you have the least amount withheld.

    I'd be careful who you give that advice to.
