Use Your Frugal Stash

January 9th, 2013 at 05:04 pm

I'm really trying not to spend extra money for the month of January. It's been a bit hit or miss, but I decided to start using up some shampoo/conditioner samples that came in the mail. I also have several bottles that simply have a little left in them that need to be used up. These bottles are ones my kids think they can't get any out of, but I can use for another 3 to 5 days! This will delay our need to purchase these items this month.

The bonus of using up these items is that I'm decluttering at the same time! I guess the point is, that it is a good idea to use up your stash once in awhile. What items do you have stashed away that you could use up that might save you money this month?

Great plan. Don't forget to recycle those shampoo bottles.

Some of the things I have stashed:

    - nut snack cylindrical container. Rigid containers are perfect for shipping jeweled eggs. Wrap the egg in tissue snugly in the container, and place the container in a box filled with packing peanuts, bubble wrap, blow up pillow thingys, or that foam sheeting.

    - tissue from past gifts. See above

    - packing peanuts, bubble wrap, foam sheeting. I keep salvaging this from home improvement projects we seem to keep doing, such as bathroom remodel and bookcase purchase!

Now all I have to do is work toward listing some jeweled eggs and getting them sold!!

@PCJ, great plan for your business! I have lots of packing materials right now which will be very helpful once I start selling on ebay again.

I have quite a few boxes books came in from Amazon... I've kept them with the idea of using them to ship books I'll hopefully sell someday. Smile
