I Cyber Shopped

November 29th, 2011 at 01:48 pm

I did some online shopping yesterday at Amazon and Shutterfly.

At Amazon, I bought a book for my daughter and a gift each for a niece and nephew. I also picked up cat food! Same price I would pay here, but I don't have to drive to go get it! I signed up for a trial Prime subscription to get free two day shipping. My items will arrive tomorrow. Smile

I had a Shutterfly coupon for $20 which I earned for buying school pictures. I bought a personalized notepad for my daughter with the unusal spelled name, and two 8x10 collage pictures to give as gifts. Spent about $7 out of pocket...primarily for shipping. I now have three collage prints to give as gifts, with the free one I picked up from Walgreens on Saturday.

I have quite a few coupons and free items to take advantage of. I hope these will all help keep my holiday costs to a minimum. It seems it all adds up pretty fast!

Did you cyber shop yesterday? How is your holiday shopping coming along? Any great deals?

I did too. I hadn't planned to, but a national mail-order giant company from whom we've ordered winter wear in the past offered 30% off and free shipping, so two items on my blog sidebar wish list have been fulfilled.

Funny but true: I am in the market for two wooden boxes from IKEA (you put them together, which my teen son would enjoy), and THEY DON'T SHIP them. I called and this particular item you HAVE to go to the store. Hmmm. Surprised.

I also saw that $20 coupon from SHutterfly on a football team picture order. Didn't believe it was true!! and didn't keep it cause really I don't have a use for it.

I cyber shop. I think I do 50 percent or more of my shopping online all year round. It's just so easy, and I always know I'm getting the best price. I too signed up for the Prime trial to get free shipping! And, PCJ, the Ikea shipping thing is frustrating. Sometimes, people sell the stuff on Craigslist or ebay, which could avoid that problem. I can't tell you how many trips I've had to make to pickup stuff they don't ship. And when they do ship, the fees are outrageous.

In fact I did a search for those items on ebay/amazon but not there. Nor any plain wooden box kit. These he noticed 2 years ago and I have waited a long time to get. Anyway, we may make a trip - the gas would be cheaper than their shipping YES! out of their minds.
