I graduated with a Finance degree and worked for a major mutual fund company handling group retirement plans. Now I blog and run a household!

I'm the wife of a full time Army Reserve Captain and SAHM to daughters ages 12 and 9. I'm 37 and DH is 40.

We started our marriage 13 years ago with over $10K in credit card debt from a failed business venture. We paid it off as quick as we could with the goal of purchasing our first home. We did this within 15 months of getting married. Now it is time to watch us pay off our home equity loan!!

Short on Goal

This months goal was to put $385 towards home equity payoff. I will be short because of unexpected expenses.

Today I made a payment of $207.50 towards the loan. This is my biggest extra payment yet, so I can't get to upset at myself.

I will try again next month.

You have a great attitude! And at least you had the money for the expenses and did'nt have to slap them on credit cards!

You were able to do nearly 2/3rds of your goal this month. So, next month just do a bit more and you'll make it!
