My Dad's 60th Birthday

May 19th, 2008 at 02:08 am

...is just around the corner. He seems like the hardest person to shop for. Is it because I don't know him well enough? Or maybe he just doesn't seem to have a lot of wants and needs. It seems like I feel this way every year.

We will be traveling to his town for a couple days next weekend. I think he is looking forward to having my family visit. It has been awhile since we've been in their next of the woods.

It seems harder, too, that his birthday is followed so closely by Father's Day! Yikes...two gifts to buy in a row.

Last year we bought him golf shirts, the wicking kind. He really liked those. He had bought himself new golf clubs, so it seem to fit with what he was doing at the time.

I hope I can think of something soon...

You know , when you get that age, there is really nothing that you really want. What I like to get is a gift card to my favorite restaurant. That is what we sent to my FIL, who is 86.

Try a subscription to Golf Digest or a gift card to Golf Galaxy. This way, he can enjoy the articles in the magazine and/or purchasing golf supplies as needed, i.e., balls, tees, replacement spikes, golf covers, towels, etc. Best of luck...God bless.

mooshocker - I definitely like the gift card idea. There is one near me and one near him! If for some reason, I don't use it for birthday I will use it for Father's Day.
