Ibotta Cash Out and More

September 21st, 2015 at 08:52 pm

I claimed two offers on Ibotta today for grocery shopping done yesterday. Once those posted, I was eligible to cash out. I picked PayPal and my $10 was sent immediately. I love how quick it was.

I'm currently $1 away from cashing out my first $20 with Checkout 51. I'm not as much of a fan of this site, but I'm determined to get to the cash out amount and be done with them.

I washed the sheets on our master bed today. When I pulled them out the fitted sheet was ripped in the middle. I knew they were getting close to the end of their life span since the elastic was getting loose. I didn't really want to buy new sheets this week. And I really don't HAVE to, as we have extra set for emergency situations such as this and there is a set on our guest bed. However, I am having guests early in October, so I think I will need to buy new soon! For tonight at least the emergency set will work so I have a little time to look for a deal.

Where do you buy sheets? Do you have a thread count or style you like? Do you use Ibotta or Checkout 51?

Last time I bought sheets it was at Target. I think the thread count was around 500?

I think I bought this set over four years ago...maybe five? I think from Younkers, but this time I'm going to try JC Penney and Target. I do have some coupons for BB&B too.

My favorite sheets are the Pure Beech jersey ones from Bed Bath and Beyond. They are sooo soft. A little on the expensive side for me though.

I have about $27 now in iBotta ready to be cashed out, and around $9 in Checkout 51. I think I prefer Checkout 51 in some ways since all the offers aren't so store specific (some offers are, but some aren't) whereas iBotta's offers are ALL store specific (and the ones that aren't, are all alcohol.)

We got a new mattress and that made sheets an issue here. I suggest you measure your mattress and particularly note the 'pocket' depth when replacing a fitted sheet. It's maddening if the depth is inadequate and the sheet pops off in the night and it never fits taut if the depth is too large. If you spend about 8 hrs. in bed, the fabric is on your skin about 1/3 of the time needing to feel comfortable for a good night's sleep. What brand was the last sheet and what was the composition revealed on it's tab? Cotton is natural and most comfortable but a polyester blend is more durable and longer wearing.

I used to buy the 'Pima'/Supima 400 thread count but DH prefers the 'sateen' blend so rather than contend with a cranky guy who didn't get enough sleep I buy the pricy sateen. Thread count is tricky, different brands use different count methods. I've only bought a significantly higher thread count once when it was touted as 'Egyptian' cotton and the sale price was the same. Found the corner construction was ghastly and the elastic 'skimpy.' It helps to be able to check these points from a display sheet.

Do you plan to buy a bed set that includes the top sheet and pillow cases? It's harder to find just a fitted sheet if you care about matching. The sale pricing here is best for 'bed in a bag' if you'd like a new bedskirt, quilt or duvet cover, sheet set with pillow cases and throw cushions. Best sale prices are immediately after Christmas.

I use Ibotta but stopped using Checkout 51 after I reached $20. It just seemed to take so long and most of the items they had were for brands I didn't buy or weren't available in my area....it took so long to reach $20 just on produce it seemed. I have much better luck with Ibotta where I have earned a number of gift cards.

I agree more with you PNW that all I buy on Checkout 51 most of the time is produce for which I get 25 cents a week! That takes over a year to get to $20.

I plan to just buy a set of sheets, likely a similar color to what we had. I'm not sure the brand still exists, but I will check as that would be really easy. It is a deep mattress. I don't think I can wait until after Christmas!!
