Senior Pics

October 7th, 2014 at 07:55 pm

I took my daughter for senior pictures today. She is relieved to have them done and have that item off her senior list of things to complete. Senior year is stressful!!

I paid $50 to secure the spot when I called. They waived the sitting fee when we arrived and stated the fee I paid would go towards the picture balance and 16 free wallets are included if we buy a package.

I think we will have lots of nice photos to choose from. Of course, we will try our best not to overspend. Smile Anyone with recent graduates know how much you spent on senior photos?

We spent $50 to have the pictures made with a friend of mine that is a photographer. Then she gave us a CD with about 20 different pics. I just went to Walmart and printed out pictures for the immediate family. I think all in all we spent about $65 Smile. The most expensive part for us was the invitations and a trip she went on.

Sounds like a good deal. We took an alternative route with a just getting off the ground studio. $88 sitting fee that included the proofs and rights to them. They turned out great Smile

I know it is early but when it comes to party time there are always great deals and coupon codes on Walgreens.com photo cards. We chose these over the traditional grad announcements and invites. We all know most of them end up in the garbage eventually. The photos announcement invites were also a lot of fun to make!

Definitely under $50.... I've always taken all my daughters' senior pics.

My baby is a senior this year. This summer, I took some of my youngest and her friend (her family doesn't have the means for them, and at the least, she'll have something for the yearbook and for Facebook.) We collected the senior pic brochures, and tried out the various poses and setting ideas. A big plus is that I can include friend or sister shots for free!

Then the girls clean up their favorite shots in iPiccy or PicMonkey (the free stuff.) There's so many other things to spend money on this year and beyond Smile
But no matter how they happen - these pictures are absolutely priceless!!

I just read Bright's response, and wanted to add we did the photo cards at grad party time too. (Walgreens also - lots to choose from, and there's always discounts.)

My daughter doubled up senior year making it so her and my son graduated together. Double cost for all the senior stuff! I took them to Sears for senior pics and spent about $150 total.

My brother and sis in law took DD1's pics....got a CD and were able to print out exactly what we wanted....I believe we got them a gift card as a thank you. Since then, the family has had a falling out with brother right around the time it was time to do DD2's. She chose a local photographer that several of her friends used. I honestly can't remember how much we paid. We ended up doing the same thing and getting a CD with 6 images. Probably about $150...this included hair and make-up, the location of our choice and 3-4 outfit changes, plus the rights to the images. Both DD's turned out beautiful.
