Chase Freedom $200 Offer

I can't partake in this offer as we both already have the Chase Freedom card. For a limited time, you can open the account, spend $500 and get $200!! That is a 40% return. I have never seen an offer that high for the low spending threshold.

    I am very tempted to apply. But, I am trying to reduce spending. I'm afraid I'll go hog-wild and charge too much stuff just to get $200.00. I wonder how long they will offer the $200. I could charge something like my auto insurance, but it's not due until September.

    @Suzanne, glad to hear it!

    @Dental, I don't know how long the offer lasts, no more than a few weeks likely. They have been offering $100 for spending $500 for a few years. This is advertised as limited. If you wanted to only charge auto insurance, you might consider applying, and paying early if your insurance would allow it. You wouldn't have to pay for it until it is due, since the card does have 0% interest for the first 15 months. You can apply the rewards as a credit towards the bill once they are awarded. Smile
    I sure don't want to encourage credit card use, if it would cause unnecessary spending, so consider it carefully for yourself.

    @dentalfloss - I just charge stuff like groceries and gas that I'd need to buy anyway. I can hit $500 pretty easily within 3 months without buying anything additional.

    Well, I applied for it, but have not heard anything yet. Hopefully it'll be soon. I just got the reminder in the mail yesterday for my dog's annual shots and exam. That could put a good dent in the $500.00.
