Tax Refund = Less Debt

February 27th, 2013 at 01:51 pm

When I saw the tax refund pending deposit yesterday, I went ahead and made a principal payment to the truck loan. It was the exact amount of the refund: $442.

So today, the new principal balance of our truck loan is $2033.15. We are getting so close to another milestone of less than $2K.

I expect to be making another payment on or after payday on March 1. This loan is going to be gone soon!!

That truck loan is almost out of here!! Have u thought about what your next goal is going to be? My small refund will go towards the mortgage when I get it.

Are you considering just paying it off? Big Grin

The next goal is stashing away cash! I need to pay ourselves back for the flute we purchased our daughter. I also know we have many possible big purchases coming up, braces, potential teen car, college, landscaping, vacations. No more non mortgage debt for us. We are done!!

@MM, it will be paid off by the end of March, which will mean taking some money from savings to do that. In the meantime, I will throw money from March 1 & 15 paychecks, and make one more regular payment on the 17th. That is the plan right now.
