Hit $200K

The market has been zooming in January, along with all of last year. It appears to be down today as I write this, but yesterday was a milestone. The total value of our retirement accounts has reached just over $200,000! It has only taken 37 months to make this second 100 grand. We will take it, and watch to see how long it takes to get to the next milestone. Smile

You might check your retirement accounts today, to see how much as changed recently. You might be surprised. And don't forget to keep investing! Or start now, if you have not started yet.

    P.S. I've been paying attention! Big Grin The gap between our mortgage and investments is narrowing very rapidly this month (investment returns only). The crossover might be much earlier in the year than I imagined. !!!

    Hey, ours are up over $200K too! And I don't have recent updates for the UK accounts--if their markets are mirroring ours, we might be doing even better!

    I honestly never know how much we have in retirement, because we have so many accounts, and when I do total them up once a month, I add in our home values and EF savings. So I know our cumulative number but hardly ever take the time to separate out just our retirement accounts to see how much we have. $203K seems like a pretty healthy number considering our past financial chaos. Smile

    Good on you! When I add up my Roth, Rollover IRA and 403B its over 300K, but the 403B on its lonesome is at 187K. So I'm getting there.

    When I checked yesterday my 457 plan plus the Roth IRA had just crossed the $300k mark. I suspect is going to flutter around that mark for most of the year (yes, I expect the market to go down some, but with my investments through the year to make up for it Frown ) That said I will be happy if the market stays flat for the remainder of this year.

    Awesome! Big Grin I am working slowly towards contributing more each year, but even our little balance is growing nicely (esp. with the gains in the market lately!).
