No Gift Wrap To Buy

December 13th, 2011 at 01:23 pm

I've started wrapping gifts. Most things are going in gift bags. Gift bags I never bought. I've just accumulated quite a few over the years from other people.

It looks like I can get everything wrapped with gift bags and wrapping paper on hand. It seems I even have two rolls of NEW wrapping paper!

This actually might be the second year in a row that I have not bought gift wrap. I think this has to do with stocking up a little too much on paper one year!

How do you handle gift wrap?

I didn't have to buy paper or bags either, although I did have to pick up a roll of birthday paper for a late November birthday. (I think I might have enough for next Christmas, too!)

I am still using bags and paper from years past. I did however need to buy some tape. But, I think I will hit the dollar store after Christmas for paper for next year. I am pretty much out now and it will only be 50 cents per roll.

I stocked up last year at the after Christmas sale so I am good on wrapping paper. I also have a ton of gift bags. I save the nice ones and reuse them as often as I can....nobody in our family minds as we are all frugal people anyway Smile

@campfrugal, actually your post reminded me that I did buy tape. My oldest daughter has been using quite a bit lately with some projects she is doing.

When I need wrapping paper I go "shopping" at my MIL's house. They have more paper than WalMart, some of it probably dating back 30 to 40 years. It is always so interesting to find paper from the 1970's and see how the styles have changed. She just overbuys so much and then she inherited paper leftover from her mother so quite the stockpile. I don't think I've bought paper in five years. I do have some gift bags that I reuse, a big train one for my son and a unicorn one for my daughter that I have used since they were little. It's become part of the tradition.
