More Simple Gifts I Made

I made (along with my daughters) some more simple gifts with fabric and ribbon we had on hand. Another key chain with a basic key ring I found in a drawer. A zippered pouch with handle. A small tote bag for my 3 year old neice. Fabric bookmarks for our young reader friends and relatives (we made about 20!). Coasters. And bean bags (which are actually filled with rice).

All free with what we had on hand!







My oldest daughter had the idea of bookmarks. The fabric pieces were 2 inches x 7 inches, with about 1/8th seams. We didn't put any interfacing in, but one could for a stiffer bookmark.

    Well, once again I totally love your taste in fabric. All the prints are so cute. I'm most excited to see the bean bags, because that's what AS was thinking about making for our daycare! Now I'm kind of inspired to help her do it. Smile

    I'm glad you like them ceejay. The bean bags are easy to make and relatively fast. I use 4 inch squares with 1/4 inch seem allowance and leave enough room to turn. I have hand sewn some closed, but have machine stitched also. Both work.

    Oo, I could give a bean-bag making kit to a couple kids I've been giving hand sewing lessons to. Thanks for the idea. Wink

    @Joan, you are welcome. Sounds like a great idea for those kids. My 11 year old daughter just seems to like handling them or throwing them up in the air.

    Seeing all that you can make makes me want to learn to sew! I have the machine, just don't know how to use it.
