My sewing machine has been a great tool for us. Do you have a sewing machine you use or another great tool worth its investment?

I learned to machine sew in home ec (giving away my advanced age!)as my mom did not sew. I bought my first machine with babysitting money at age 11, and upgraded to my current one about 15 years ago. I used to nurse my babies while watching PBS sewing shows. In my early years of being at home with the girls, I even did some alterations for neighbors and others through word of mouth.
I love to sew, though don't have as much time now as I used to. Through the years, I've sewn a lot for the house (many curtains and quilts,) clothes for us, and lots of gifts.
Well, that's a trip down memory lane...sewing is a great thing!
Have lots of fun with your new fabric! Hope we get to see the finished items...

I used to make clothes (even made a couple prom dresses in high school...when mom was around to help ) but haven't done that in forever.
